Petron E10 Premium Fuels SRA Racing Team

Petron E10 Premium, the specially formulated ethanol-gasoline blend introduced recently by oil industry leader Petron Corporation, is being proven at the race track as it powers the Scuderia Ramirez de Arellano racing team in the Philippine Touring Car Championship. Headed by racing legend Pocholo Ramirez, Team Petron/SRA is zooming past the competition fueled by the oil firm’s ethanol-based, environmental-friendly unleaded gasoline.

Responding to the call of the Department of Energy for cleaner, alternative sources of energy, the Philippine Touring Car Championship (PTCC) has mandated the use of E10 unleaded gasoline for the 2008 season, starting in the 3rd round of the 12-round series. In the high-speed, optimum performance world of racing competition, Petron E10 Premium’s superior performance is being put to the test – and proving its superiority with each race of Team Petron/SRA. “Contrary to popular opinion,” Pocholo Ramirez declares, “Petron E10 Premium does not sacrifice power or speed in its eco-friendliness. In fact, the performance of Petron’s E10 is the same as unleaded gasoline.”

Two pesos cheaper than regular unleaded gasoline, Petron E10 Premium is not only the earth-friendly choice for motorists, but the pocket-friendly option, too. Boasting of superior performance while being eco-friendly at the same time, Petron E10 Premium is a mixture of 10% fuel-grade ethanol and 90% unleaded gasoline. With an extra fuel additive which helps clear a vehicle’s engine of deposits, Petron E10 Premium increases fuel economy and optimizes engine performance — making it the choice of the Ramirez clan in their bid for the checkered flag.

“Basically,” Louis Ramirez elaborates on racing with Petron E10 Premium, “we wanted to show the general public that if environmentally friendly gasoline can function in high-performance vehicles such as race cars, it can work in ordinary, everyday cars.” When they started using Petron E10 Premium in June 2008, Team Petron/SRA did not need any special modifications to their engines to use the fuel, and their car’s performance on the track was at par with – or even better than – using ordinary, unleaded gasoline.

With Petron E10 Premium coursing through their engines, the team took podium finishes in the July races of the PTCC. In the overall standings of Group 1 of the PTCC, Kookie Ramirez and Louis Ramirez of Team Petron/SRA rank first and second with 52 and 46 race points, respectively, handily shutting out other competitors using other E10 brands. Petron E10 Premium is definitely proving its dominance in the highly-competitive motorsports arena, with the strong performances of Team Petron/SRA.
Team Petron/SRA can be seen tearing through the tracks at the Subic International Raceway. They will again be using Petron’s high performance E10 Premium gasoline in the next race on September 6 and 7, 2008.
